Bjorn Hessmo Group

We investigate the properties of neutral cold atoms that are tightly confined in magnetic microtraps. These microtraps are obtained by using technologies from the semiconductor industry. This allows us to build small and precise structures with complex shapes. Our main interest is to investigate small atomic ensembles. To efficiently detect and address these small clouds, we integrate micro-optics with the electrical chip structures.
