CQT Quantum Immersion Writer's Residency
With the support of: Singapore National Arts Council
Awards in 2014

Following a strong response from Singapore writers to our Quantum Immersion residency, we are delighted to be able to support two exciting proposals. We thank all the applicants for their proposals and our evaluators for their advice. We hope our decision will be as difficult when we offer the residency again in 2015.

For 2014, CQT makes the following awards:

Eleanor Wong
Writer in Residence

Eleanor Wong will be Writer in Residence at CQT from September to December 2014. She will write two to three strong scenes of a musical-theatre piece, to be presented in a rehearsed reading in 2015. These scenes will ultimately form part of a larger piece exploring human relationships in a world of technology. Being NUS faculty, Eleanor waives the stipend. The funds are instead allocated to support the cost of staging the reading.

Eleanor Wong, a published playwright, has pursued parallel careers in law and media. Find a short bio here.

Otto Fong
Outreach Fellow

Otto Fong will be Outreach Fellow at CQT from September 2014 to February 2015. He will write and illustrate a new comic book in his series for school children, Sir Fong's Adventures in Science. The Outreach Fellow position at CQT was advertised concurrently with the residency. Otto's experience in science outreach and his educational proposal were a good match for this project-based role. Otto is appointed with terms matching those of the writer's residency.

Otto Fong is a cartoonist and former science teacher. Explore his work here.
