Talk on: Unsharp Quantum Information: Correction and Broadcasting

Abstract: The information preserved by a quantum channel can be characterized by the set of observables (POVMs) which exist in the image of the dual channel. I will explain how, for any subspace of states, a subset of these preserved observables can be corrected simultaneously and characterize an algebra whose factors are the subsystem quantum error correcting codes. I will also show how this approach can be used to model a process of decoherence in terms of an unsharp pointer observable, which can represent any emergent classical phase-space.
