Multiphoton entanglement and state estimation |

Description In this project we explore the production and characterization of high order entanglement in photonic degrees of freedom. This includes multiphoton polarization entangled states as well as other strategies to increase the dimension of the Hilbert space such as combined polarization and time-bin entanglement. We pay particular attention of factors that affect the purity of the state and the unwanted leakage of information to other degrees of freedom. Other aspects of this project include the investigation of optimal state estimation with finite resources and the efficient implementation of conditional measurements.
